The score of If I Could Go weaves together the haunting beauty of traditional Irish music with the emotional power of contemporary musical theatre.

From soaring ballads to driving ensemble numbers that pulse with the energy of modern Dublin, the music serves as a bridge between worlds with 17 exciting, original songs.

Orchestration

The musical is orchestrated for a seven-piece pit orchestra:

  • Keyboard/Synth
  • Lead Guitar
  • Rhythm Guitar
  • Bass
  • Drum Set (Kit + Bodhrán)
  • Flute/Tin Whistle
  • Fiddle

Note that both electric and acoustic guitars are used, with some songs using traditional DADGAD tuning on the acoustic to capture a Celtic sound.

Traditional Irish instruments are used extensively to enrich the Celtic flavor of the score.

A rehearsal score for full piano accompaniment is also being produced for licensing purposes.
